The best way out is always through. – Robert Frost
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, over 41,000 people die by suicide each year in the United States, which is more than twice as many than die from homicide. Suicide is very tragic, but often preventable. People of all ages and genders can be at risk.
What should I do if someone I know is considering suicide?
- Do not leave him or her alone.
- Try to get immediate help from a doctor or hospital or call 911.
- Remove any access he or she may have to firearms or potential tools for suicide.
